This Editor-Loved Jewelry Designer Shares Her Favorite Ways to Wind Down
It's no secret that we love a good morning routine. We've come to learn, however, that the rituals we do to wind down before bed are just as important. Whether you take 10 minutes or a few hours, it's precious time that you have set aside at the end of the day to take care of yourself. Our series Weekend Wind-Down highlights the nightly routines of the people we admire.

Courtesy of Fiona MorrisonI am kicking off my weekend wind-down routine with a little dinner in the park. My roommate Philippa and I work from home most of the day, so sometimes something as small as eating dinner outside helps us feel a little rejuvenated. Tonight, it’s tacos and margaritas to-go. Louie my puppy also needs a good workout, so he sleeps through the night.

Courtesy of Fiona MorrisonI also love taking this time to plan out my week ahead and start building my to-do list. It always eases my Monday anxiety if I can plan out my to-do list with what days I can fit everything in and makes my list a little less daunting. I try and do this away from my computer so I keep my weekend work/life balance in check.

Courtesy of Fiona MorrisonA candle-lit bath is maybe one of my favorite ways to relax, and I swear I only have time for this on Sundays. It also forces me to do a hair mask while I’m hanging in the tub. Currently, I’m using DevaCurl Deep Sea Repair Seaweed Strengthening Mask, Noto Botanics Deep Serum, F Miller Toning Mist, Laneige Milk Oil Cleanser, and Naturopathica Hydrating Creme. I find that less is more with my skincare routine and sticking to the right products that work has been really great as I have slightly sensitive skin.

Courtesy of Fiona MorrisonMy next self-care step is maybe my favorite. I got the most amazing back and body massager from Rachel Saunders Ceramics. I swear it works way better than a Theragun. The ceramic massager and a little F miller body oil go a long way! I'll usually put on a nice record and light a few candles as I unwind. Louie gets a few scratches as well. Usually, I spend my weekend with activities such as mountain biking or hiking so a little r&r helps make sure I can keep up for the rest of the week.

Courtesy of Fiona MorrisonI would love to say that meditation or a little workout is a part of my routine but honestly, a movie night on my sofa has taken over. Tonight we’re watching Mustang, a really beautiful Turkish film. For nights when we’re feeling like tuning into something deeper than 90 Day Fiance, we go to Criterion and Mubi to help give us a few more options. I also get a lot of creative inspiration from older films, especially with 80s costume and set designs.

Courtesy of Fiona MorrisonI try and do a little reading before bed with my phone out of sight. Currently, I’m reading Even Cowgirls Get The Blues by Tom Robbins, but my favorite book recently has been The Secret History by Donna Tart— I would suggest it to everyone! Then, it’s lights out.
