The thing about a "routine” is that it rarely stays the same. Your routine can (and probably will) change after a major life event or milestone or according to which season it is. You might even have a different routine for certain days of the week. Before she founded Fitish, a CBD-focused skincare and wellness brand, Jenna Owens spent 12 years co-hosting a nationally syndicated morning radio show, which required her to wake up at 4 a.m. for the job. These days, her mornings look different as an entrepreneur who sets her own schedule, but she admits there are times when it’s just as difficult to get out of bed.

Want to know what Owens describes as "the best version of [her] morning routine”? Keep reading to find out more.

I struggle to sleep past 6:30 a.m., so I'll usually allow myself to wake up slowly and read the news on my iPad before checking emails. I sleep with a glass of water on my nightstand, so I drink it first thing in the morning before my beloved coffee. I am also a big proponent of splashing cold water on my face the first thing in the morning. I find it helps with inflammation, which has become my whole business.

Time to feed my rescue pugs, Weezy and Jefe, and get some caffeine for myself! I tend to switch between coffee and Fitish Peak Effect CBG + Energy ampules, as they have the perfect amount of caffeine and assist with the focus to really get your day going.

If I don't work out, I'll go right into making breakfast. However, when I do work out, I need to get it out of the way before I have time to change my mind. I'll usually throw on whatever is clean. Lately, I've been loving outfits from Beach Riot and Year of Ours.

As far as my workout routine goes, I'll hop on the treadmill and do 30 minutes of alternating between walking for one minute and running for two minutes.

Then, it's finally time for my favorite meal of the day. I love breakfast so much that I'll often have two of them! My go-to smoothie lately has been a mixture of blueberries, banana, almond butter, spinach, and almond milk. I'll also have some eggs, goat cheese, and my Mexican lover's homemade salsa verde, which is another favorite of mine.

After my workout and breakfast, I'll take a quick shower and, if I can get away with it, use our Cleanish Dry Shampoo to save time. I keep things pretty natural these days in terms of workday skin.

I start with our Dewing It CBD Moisturizer, then use a little MAC Pro Longwear Concealer, a Maybelline mascara, Anastasia Brow Freeze, and a highlighter and lip liner from Charlotte Tilbury. I'll finish off my quick makeup routine with my CBD lip balm. I grab my bag then it's off to the office, usually with the support pugs.
