You may have come across one of Mik Zazon’s viral videos on your Instagram or TikTok feeds. Through her #normalizenormalbodies movement, which has garnered over a million posts across platforms, the body positivity digital creator, writer, and speaker has been on a mission to help women find the confidence to love themselves at any size.

And ever since starting her community and sharing her life online, Zazon has also become susceptible to burnout. In order to help combat these feelings, mornings are a sacred time for her to listen to her body and give it exactly what it needs. "With auto-immune conditions and mental illnesses, I have learned that taking my time in the morning is essential. Slow mornings allow me to assess how much energy I have to give that day," Zazon said.

I tend to wake up with my internal alarm clock, which is around 7 A.M. these days. Before picking up my phone to catch up on social media, I like to cuddle with my dogs, Juice and Blue, first thing in the morning!

Afterward, I'll make my coffee (with lots of creamer), and sit down at my breakfast nook to read any work emails.

After finishing my coffee, I'll get up and clean up any messes from the day or night before. This typically consists of putting dishes away, hanging and folding any clothes, doing laundry, and cleaning Blue’s bowls.

One of my new favorite discoveries is a stair basket. Since my office is upstairs, and I always need to bring things up and down the steps, the stair basket has made it so that I’m not constantly laying random items on the steps for me or my pets to trip on!

Time to start getting ready for the day! I love using the brand Tula for my skincare routine. My go-to products are their purifying face cleanser, pro-glycolic resurfacing toner, vitamin C antioxidant moisturizer, and signature glow mist.

I like to let my skincare products soak into my skin, so while that happens, I'll use my Dyson Airwrap to blow out my hair. Once that's done, I like to apply a light, natural makeup look.

For my base makeup, I like to use the Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer, which is the perfect amount of coverage for a natural look. Next, I'll apply the most magical concealer I have ever used, the IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye Concealer. It is super long-lasting and waterproof!

I'll then bronze my face with the Milk Makeup matte cream bronzer stick and add Rare Beauty liquid blush to my cheeks. Finally, I'll throw on some of my favorite Maybelline mascara and that pretty much completes my everyday makeup look. Most days, my outfit for the day consists of some type of lounge or athletic wear.

After I finish getting ready, I'll make myself a small breakfast. I like to make simple and easy meals, and some of my favorites include avocado toast, chia seed pudding, and Noosa yogurt.

After breakfast, my assistant and project manager will come over and we'll spend the rest of my morning working on responding to emails, creating content, and working on any brand deals.

I know a lot of entrepreneurs tend to have an early start to their morning, but as someone with auto-immune conditions, I have to accommodate my life to be as stress- free as possible.
