This year has certainly changed, or fully upended, routines in all aspects of our lives, including our work routines. For many people, this has meant being able to work from home for the first time. And if you’re privileged enough for this to be your "new normal," creating a semblance of a work-life balance can be met with its own set of challenges.

Today, we’re taking a page from serial entrepreneur Sevetri Wilson’s guide to creating a healthy and balanced routine while working from… anywhere! For someone who runs Resilia—her own tech start-up that has just closed one of the largest rounds of funding by a Black female founder in New Orleans—and who is an accomplished author and musician, Wilson relies on her wellness rituals to keep her grounded and ready to tackle anything that comes her way.

Currently, Wilson is making it all happen while living and working in Jamaica. Keep scrolling to see what a typical morning is like for this founder and CEO.

When I wake in the morning, I start my day by washing my face, drinking warm lemon water, and putting on workout clothes.

I meditate for 10-15 minutes each morning. Starting my day with a clear mind helps me to remain grounded and ready to take on all that the day has to offer.

Before COVID-19, I was an avid Orange Theory goer and frequented my local yoga studio in New Orleans, Magnolia Yoga Studio

Now, I typically do yoga at home or use an app for training. Since I’ve been working from Jamaica, I can practice yoga in the backyard of my villa with an amazing view.

I then shower and start a simple skincare routine. Face rolling has been a part of my morning routine for the last two years, and I absolutely love it.

Some days, I’ll wear makeup, like today where I have several Zoom meetings. When I do wear makeup, these are my favorite go-to products.

I’m in love with this face palette from The Lip Bar. I’m also a huge fan of 2.4.1 Cosmetics, and one of my favorite products is its Mentha Gloss.

For foundation, I prefer using Fenty Beauty's because it's super lightweight and feels great on my skin.

When I’m practicing intermittent fasting, I’ll grab a light breakfast such as eggs or bacon. But today, I have a fresh plate of fruit, which I’ll literally eat for the next three days.

I’ll also have coffee or tea. I try to limit my coffee intake as much as possible, which has made me a huge fan of Herlistic products and its amazing tea.

Time to settle in for my first call of the day, which usually starts at 9 a.m. During these times, I try to keep my gear simple and generally wear comfortable clothes depending on who I’m virtually meeting with.

Today, I’m wearing a comfortable sweater by Power Pump Girls Inc. It’s a nonprofit, and proceeds benefit women and girls across the country.

11 A.M.

After about two hours of Zoom meetings, I’ll take a 15-minute coffee break, and sometimes, I’ll treat myself to a snack. I’m really loving Partake cookies. They are gluten-free and amazing. The chocolate chip is my favorite!

Thank you for joining me on my morning routine (work from anywhere edition)!
